Depression in Basic Pay and Status of Captain Rank Officers

Starting basic pay of Captain and Under Secy were same till 2005. However wef 2006, the starting basic pay of Captain was depressed by 9.4% and the 7th Pay Commission has also recommended a depression of 9.5%.
